BARCELLOS
In 1968, with only 11 blocks, José Ferrugem Barcellos started his first rice crop as a pioneer in the region of Glorinha-RS. Without electricity and with few resources, the constancy of the work was the engine for the transformation of the property.
Just 10 years after the start of activities, with the advance of electricity to the rural district of Capão Grande, it was possible to install the first rice dryer and qualify the infrastructure, increasing the crop and productivity. It didn't take long for the purity of the harvested product to qualify it to be used as Rice Seed by the members of the cooperative of which it was a part.
In 1983, it started producing Certified Rice Seeds and created the first Seed Processing Unit in the region and 35 years later, in 2018, the brand “Sementes Barcellos” was created and made official, carrying the logo of the cattle brand created by his father José Barcellos. Along this path of progress, in 2011 it began with the cultivation of Soya.
Currently, Sementes Barcellos is consolidated as a family company, also made up of his sons, Marcelo and Maurício Barcellos.

Producer Experience
We are a family group of producers, we started with the cultivation of rice in 1967, which guarantees us an experience in all production processes.
Differential
All seed production is produced in proprietary areas and in soybean rotation areas for a period of 2 years or in fallow areas with crop/livestock integration.
